History of Nosque

The Nosque began as a peaceful and simple people, they worshipped the Goddess Viestevai and her twin brother Rhiestevai.

All Nosque are born with black and white facing markings, this is not a tatto.

However, the God Rhiestevai was not content with their simple way of life and tried to influence the development of the Nosquian race. He placed enormous stress on the people to develop themselves into a race superior even to the Elves.

Unfortunately, the Nosque were not sufficiently developed to withstand this strain and after many failures Rhiestevai grabbed hold of the minds of the people and started to bend their will to his doing.

This mind control not only broke the will of the people but drove Rhiestevai to lust power, pushing the Nosque to the limit. He created a huge army to enslave the whole of the Heard-of-lands, to mold the world into his creation. Some Nosque broke free from his grasp and poisoned the food and water supply of the land which drugged the people into a Zombie-like state.

Rhiestevai poured more of his power into the control of his poisoned slaves but eventually was driven insane by the mindless souls of the Nosque.

Rhiestevai, in a bid to free himself from insanity, become mortal and killed himself by drinking a deadly cocktail of poisons, however the Nosquian people for centuries remained a Zombie like state.

Goddess Viestevai, truly suffering the suicide of her twin brother, originaly blamed the Nosque for her twin's downfall and ignored them, but eventually, through continual worship from the Nosquian people, she forgave them and cured their tormented minds giving them a chance to live a normal life, but they were forever tainted with a mindless destruction when placed under stress.

The Nosque returned to a simple and peaceful way of life for hundreds of years.

However, the sorcerer Wedge Cloudminder recently harnessed the Spirit of Nosque and once again the Nosquian people have had their will snatched from them.

He bred the people once again into an army, set them to destroy all of the Heard-of-lands.

During the war that has ensued, some Nosquians, decendants of the original poisoners, have broken free from Cloudminder's grasp, and are attempting to settle alongside their adversaries, whilst helping more Nosquian's become free.

Understandibly, the Nosquians are not trusted by most of their former enemies.

They remain, however, a military race, bred, trained and hardened for war.

Once free from Cloudminder's grasp they have returned to an intelligent, cohesive community, and are fiercely proud of their freedom from Cloudminder, swearing a life-long Blood Oath to destroy all tyranny within the Heard of Lands.
